What Jeep do I drive?: TJ
Default What's it worth ?

Hey guys looking at selling my tj it's 05 with 90000 on the clock what would a reasonable sale price be ? It cost me 20k 2 years ago and have spent around 19000 on it building it since. It has 3.5 inch rubicon express superflex suspension kit 1.25 inch body lift and 1 inch motor mount lift. Has rebuilt frog and rear Diffs with 4.56 ratios and an Eaton E locker in the front. Both Diffs have ARB diff covers. Has new pro comp polished alloy rims and running 35x12.5x15 Maxxis trepedores with around 80% tread. A few other things include
Lightforce 170 spot lights
Front and rear adjustable panhard rods
Xenon flat flairs
Garvin roof rack/basket
Front bar with brand new vrs 9.5000 winch with synthetic rope
Rear bar with tire carrier
Slip yoke eliminator
Rock sliders
80 Channel UHF
The list goes on.

Nice Jeep Dean, from what modified TJ's have been selling for lately I would expect you would get around the low 20's

i like that idea, i'll give ya $2500 - inc a full tank of fuel ??

i agree with a few people though, mods don't increase sale value unless it's a tuff truck comp car; or a low sprung sports car built for racing, anything in between is just a car with some fancy looks..

i imagine you should be able to at least get 18-20 though ?

if you purchased this for 20k technically all you have done is put more K's on the engine more wear on all runnign gear and paint. i would pay 20k for this though with the mods you haev done this thing sounds TANK !!! and virtually what i want to do EVENTUALLY over time. but you shouldn't expect what you paid for though.. hope that helps and not hurts...

Thanks guys. Yeah I know I'm not expecting to get what I have put into it back. Just trying to work out a reasonable price...... Might advertise it on the higher side but be realistic when offers come in. I put it on eBay starting at 18k. See what happens then. Might put it in the for sale section here but every one here already has a jeep.

i looked here first b4 i had a jeep though, and i've only owned mine for 2? maybe 3 weeks, it's worth putting it for sale ANYWHERE you can as you never know people might peruse the forum for problems and then do a bunch of re-searh first and then have a look at what's for sale. i know that's what i did..

i thought my jeep was worth 30K, just didnt go that way , hopefully someone sees the value and hard work gone into yours.
its a tuff thing the old jeeps, as was mentioned above, australians find it hard to see the value in a well built tj.

i think the 18k is what it will get interest at, as its a clean, nice looking steed.
good luck tho, hope it goes well

there's alot of modified jeep on the market atm, bad time to sell, I'd say 18k, if its auto, or a bit less if its a 6spd

Have you thought about returning it to stock and sell the aftermarket gear ?

It has a rebuilt frog?

High teens is a good place to start.
The less modded, the more limited the market. Who wants an old stock tired TJ?
Too many mods and the market is again limited (ie Aarons rig)

Yours is about right I think to attract a broad cross section of the public. Worse case, drop the suspension a bit and go smaller rubber.
