Yours as a 2010 should have had 245's, there was a stretch of 2009's that had 255's on them.
But geez, at that price you would be much better off with something else. For example the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac in 285/70 17 is around the $450 mark and a much better option to stockers. You could also look at 265/70's such as the Micky T's AT. There are plenty to choose from in these sizes to suit, and much better value options than stockers!

Only MY08 and MY09 vehicles had 255/75/17 as stock tyres. All others are 245/70/17.

Yeah - I just checked. Mine was sold in 2010, 2009 plated and to top it off they sold me a car with 255's on the road and a 245 spare even though the tire placard states they should have been 255's all round.

What month in 2010 did you buy the Jeep?
CJD have a tendancy to sell previous year plated cars as current year due to the fact it takes so long to get them over here. They sell it on the fact of when it was first registered. So it may be say 09/09 build but sell it as 2010 plated as they registered it in 01/10 or 02/10.
EDIT: Go back to your dealer and get a proper sized spare as that is basically unroadworthy.

You wont have any issue at all with 33's on a diesel auto - besides, there is only than 18mm diameter difference from the 255/75 to 285/70 (or 33's).

Yeah that doesn't surprise me. It was probably registered only a month before. What is the build date of your jeep?
I guess it's a lesson learnt for the future
