I wouldn't think they're illegal......though you'd seriously want to add some high temp/flameproof sheeting to the underside....to at least give you a chance to put an engine fire out. FG panels burn very nicely.
The underside of the one with the rear side vents actually has a cold air inlet at the rear cowl...ducted to the airbox intake area....nice idea.
I wonder how good the fit is on these?

Can't imagine it would be a bad fit as they're obviously not a designed from the ground up product and simply made from a mold taken off an existing stamped steel design. For the money I'm keen. Just need to save the money first.

They are not illegal per se as much as they would need to comply with ADR to be legal on vehicle.
Very similar to the TowBars and home made Bull Bars.
If it causes a problem when you have a crash, your insurance company may wash their hands of you.

Insurance company would have to prove bonnet contributed to the accident to deny a claim. Might knock back claim on bonnet itself. Worst case would be a crash causes injury to someone and the bonnet made it worse or caused it. Which let's face it a bonnet is not going to cause any problems whatsoever as long as it is properly secured.
