No what I meant is that the pin and plugs may be the same, the module itself is revised. When I meant EVIC meant the internal vehicle info module. And there is the grand cherokee limited and the grand cherokee laredo and the wiring is different. The laredo is the base model grand and the ltd is the top range. The BCM revisions and the ECM are different and so are a lot of the modules. This is where all the changes have happened you need both year wiring diagrams and then splice the differences. Are you in sydney ?

I would do the swap (and good luck with it) of the engine and tranny. Leave everything else in place and get it running. The tranny will bang and harsh shift initially but it will settle down a little bit after about 100k's (different Clutch volumes stored in the different TCM's). Then take it to jeep and get them to reprogram and update the ECM with 2000 codes and reflash the TCM with the 2002 code. It will work fine. But if you try to go back ie retrofit between these two models you will spend months and months and will really have a mess on your hands.

yes I am worried , but all of the modules and the locks and ing is getting transferred over , also the dash , so the modules from the 2002 is going over , now I have gone and pulled most of the connecters off , just trying to remember how to remove the one from the auto , I am on the ground doing this , and I hate it .
I would give my errrr , well you know for a hoist ! I got a 5000lb crane , but after using hoists before , I really miss them . all of the drive line is getting transferred as well , and I am hoping that I can fit the side air bags , now the dash look exactly the same except the limited is black and the Laredo is a indi glow type . and after doing all this and it works I am going to fill the old body with fish heads and chips and tow it to the 88 year olds place in the hope that a ton of seagulls take over his place

so yes it worries me , but as long as the looms run the same , and the numbers same for both ABS , but the braking system are a different size (different brake shoe as well) , when I get to the rear diff ill see if the same but if not ill swap that too. I really do hope that I don't have to strip both to shell and swap looms for the wiring ,
when it comes to the side air bags this worries me , and the cd player , as I don't know the codes for them , but if need be for that I will get the upgrade wires (one that transfers the 7 pin to the 10) so I have been told I can buy , just don't know where .
