Leak test on turbo system
Hi All,
Has anyone done or had done a test on their intake, turbo, EGR system. Usually a pressure test to find air leaks. If so, what was involved and how much did it cost. Would this be something I could do myself [probably don't have the equipment though] or a local mechanic or perhaps a specialist?
thanks
Adrian

Turbo to engine will let you know by a high whistling noise, similar to leaks on the intake side but really should throw a code for either..... oil leaking from a hose is a dead giveaway of a clamp that needs a tighten as well...

Hi Drover, I can't detect any noises at all that might be a leak but it seems the workshop manuals [and my friend the auto electrician] suspect a leak or vacuum problem might be an issue. As per other thread I am leaning to the Boost Pressure Sensor now.
thanks

Can do a smoke test. There are kits avail to test for vacuum leaks.
