Finally have the internet at home so no more driving 25km to get mob reception. The Gov had a new satellite support scheme and I was able to secure one of the few available places. Today the tech came out and connected me to the IPstar.

almost zero phone reception at best
no internet (telstra think it may not be possible)
no tv reception (some kent stole the booster power supply)
no real heating yet (its foogen cold in the hinterland)

the excitement of buying is now gone.
