Similar, in the 5sp diesel around 10-12 (urban and highway combined), no towing. Towing 2.5t gets around 14. Petrol may be fine when unladen, but stick a big trailer on the back and then see what happens.

In east metro Melbourne pricing is the exact opposite. ULP fluctuates wildly between $1.30ish and $1.55 whereas diesel hangs around $1.35 most of the time. On average a lot cheaper than ULP. So evaluations may differ considerably based on where you live. Having said that, between here and E. Gippsland last week I noticed pricing followed the metro trend. Difference even greater if you run on PULP, the pricing of which is just ridiculous.

Just done a check on what my economy has been over the last 1,000 km’s. Around 50/50 city/highway and averaging 9.9 litres per 100 km’s. Go the mighty petrol.
