I agree with turismo, also cause its got live axles front & back which make it flex great & easier to lift.

Having had a Landy S3 & Defender, Nissan G60, LJ80 as well as a Cruiser and done heaps of miles in Unimogs, I have a JGC because they are bloody good and it isn't a pain to work on and doesn't cost heaps for parts unless you do the dealer thing, if I wanted to belt around in the Simpson I would probably go the Landy but the Jeep does me.

Cause I went to school in one and thats why i bought it.
Believe me, I sold my W210 E320 Merc to buy a Jeep Cherokee 02.
Not that i ever felt the need to convince myself or anyone else for that matter.

BMAC, I concur with all the sane comments - now i'm in for it!
It has style, features and benefits not available on a lot other brands at entry level.
It is a safe, on road vehicle, with excellent power to weight ratio.
The transmission system on my 2007 WH CRD Laredo will run rings around most other vehicles off road.
Maybe I'm biased toward Jeeps, as I previously owned a 2003 CRD KJ.
Good luck in your research.
