Stock 17 JK rims fit perfectly, but with 31" it will need at least 2" lift and front bar trims

I ran 265/65/17 on mine for ages, heaps of trips with them and no scrubbing, that was with old shocks and crumbled isolators and sagged springs and the 2 inch pucks on the springs so pretty much sat at stock height.

How would 245 75 17's go? I think this is pretty standard for the JK's. The skinnier profile would assist with rubbing. They end up being a 31.5 inch where the original is 29 inch so technically not legal. Don't know if it would fit in the spare well either.

Will not fit in the spare wheel well. 245/75R17 seem to put the speedo spot on in my Grand CRD so I dont think you will get in to legal problem.

Davivo, interesting about your speedo with those tyres. I believe the stock tyres are 235 65R17's so the 245 70R17's are a big step up. According to the QLD regs you can go up in tyre diameter no more than 50mm or 2". At an overall increase in size of 2 1/2" or 68mm the 245 70 is technically illegal, or at least that's how I read it. Happy to be told otherwise.
Maybe the previous owner fitted a speedo adjustment device to your car??

I have the JK rims and tyres, 245/75/17 and fit the spare in the spare well, its snug but fits whie deflated, I carry compressor anyway, and upside down has a ton of room for compressor, tools and such, with the jack under the rear seat

The spare fitting makes a big difference to my getting that tyre size, thanks. Any rubbing? Have you got a lift going? I have none currently but soon to get either the King 50mm or the EFS 40mm.
