Merging the XH Commander and WH Grand Cherokee Sections of the Forum
Hi Mods/All.
Can we please consider merging the XH Commander and WH Grand Cherokee sections of the forum into one section at some stage?
I understand that it was a big task to split the Grand Cherokee section into the solid axle section (ZJ/ZG & WJ/WG) and IFS section (WH/WK/WK2), however as the Commander and the WH Grand Cherokee are essentially the same car, with the same running gear and only a different body, it makes much more sense to group them together rather than having the WH with the WK2 which virtually have nothing in common other than a model name.
The WK2 now has more than enough owners to justify it's own section of the forum. Commander owners are few and far between and WH owners are becoming less by the day due to many of them upgrading to a WK2 or selling and moving on.
Being a relatively new Commander owner I find that it's very hard to get a response due to the low traffic in that section and so I sometimes double up with a thread in the GC section just to get more input from WH owners.
So whaddya reckon?

I'm game
I support the notion but I believe it would be easier to rename the Commander section (something like "XH/WH Commander & Grand") which would see the demise of the Commander only section.
I would be willing to assist (as I am a mod in the 2 existing Grand sections) with the suggested merger but would need to be made a Mod of the Commander section too.
It's really up to you active Commander owners to agree on the idea, maybe running a pole to measure the popularity of the whole thing

Thanks Clarky!
I mustn't have articulated it very well, but what I was suggesting is exactly what you said above - bring the WH and XH together and keep the WK2 Grand section separate and on its own.
They do a XH Commander and WH Grand section on the USA Jeep forum (called XK & WK over there of course) which works quite well.
Hopefully we get enough support to make this happen soon!
Cheers,
Hanna

I second the motion too.
Being the active member that supported the Grand split, I can certainly understand. WK2 is so different to WH, so it make sense to split em up.
Good luck Hanna, Clarky et al
