How to check EGR functioning ok?
07 JK CRD.
Just wondering how I can check the correct functionality of the EGR system.
I don't really have any concerns that it's not functioning, but I did buy the Jeep used so don't really know what to compare it to.
Let's assume I have no plans to blank it off just yet or get a tune to disable it, all I want to do is check it is functioning as intended.
Thanks.

I would say if you're getting no errors then it's probably working properly!
Don't blank it off in the JK CRD, i think it's used to bleed off excessive turbo pressure as the turbo in the 2.8 doesn't have a wastegate
Samco hoses, GDE tune and Provent 200 will be the way to go when you get around to it

I've read of some owners having the EGR stick open, and someone on here whose become 'noisy'. Are these issues likely to throw up errors?
I have the provent 200, but as for the Samco hoses?

to check its function you unbolt it and use a vacuum gauge. If its leaking you will know about it, increase in engine noise, turbo noise and it sound like an exhaust leak when under boost

Mine (on my 2007 build) always gave off fart sounds around 1700 -1800 rpm since new, but has either got quieter or I don't notice it as much now as time goes on.
Do the newer JK CRDs have a different quieter improved EGR compared to the older ones ?
