Off-topic. I rang autobarn, they do have the recovery gear that you suggested. They mentioned that the D-Ring shackles are rated 3.25.
Are those d-rings good enough for primary use, or will I have to get higher rated ones , on the same xj/setup?
Yeah that sounds like the kit i think they have on special for $99, but check ARB & others before you buy. Shackles should be 'BOW SHACKLES' & rated at 3.25t minimum.....I'd like to help you organise some recovery points & i'd also advise getting a Towbar (2nd hand are about $100/$150) too..... Give me a call sometime (i'll PM my # again).......AL

I have one of the hitch mounted recovery points. Very handy.
Stupid tailshaft!

Unfortunately I'm going to Canberra this week so I'll be keen in a couple of weeks after I find a new uni, and Yoke

More keen to do a day trip through there tho, to check things out properly. Looks like it has some great rock sections

Hi Dave, If you are up for it, I'm keen to do a run through there on the 5th Dec. If it's all good, we should meet at the BP Logan Village @ 9am - depart 9.30....
