try Ryco at

http://www.rycofilters.com.au/catalo...model/wrangler

the TJ takes a Z89 which is a shortened version of the ubiquitous Z9 thats sold by the millions and therefore as cheap as chips. its what I use as there is enough room to fit it in. except for the length everything is identical, like beta ratio, bypass, etec etc

the above link gives ryco air and oil filters for he JK v6. the oil fiter nominated being a z418.

dont know how common the z418 is, but like the TJ there may be a longer/shorter version thats otherwise identical and a lot more common and is suitable. it just requires someone to do some research. otherwise probably find the z418 is sold at supercheap

ryco are about the most common auto filter sold in this country, but the sticky doesnt mention 'em?

dont know if there is any truth to this, but i have read a lot on the US jk forum about some filters dont give enough anti drain back protection causing the engine to rattle on start up, (which will happen with any engine, not just jk) most of them seem to be able to cure it with a genuine filter.
the k&n ones are good, i use the genuine one and for the price why wouldnt i? "apparently" there are a few different filters for the 3.8, but mine uses this
K04105409AC and it only costs about $8 from the dealership, and will not cause any drama from warranty if the engine should encounter any problems.
