Then again, pretty much anything goes in Florida it seems; saw CJs, TJs & JK getting around onroad with huge 38" & 40" tires, no flares, Hemi'd up with loud exhausts, etc & the coppers didn't seem to notice. There's even a guy on the US forum from Florida who's dropped a carburetted Chevvy 350 V8 into his JK and pulled out all the ECU computers and stock wiring harness & rewired the whole thing himself (so he's obviously got no ABS/ESP, etc & runs all aftermarket gauges) & the thing's road legal.

It's like here though in the way that different states have their own rules & regs. Florida's a big contrast I think to California where they have the strictest emissions laws in the world (apparantly the reason why the rest of the US market doesn't get the CRD Wrangler we have).

I must come from another time and place... you know, when it was ok to be a little adventurous without worrying about what someone would think or say.
Ive had my doors off most summers (3 now) and no dramas. I use tube doors with mirrors and enjoy the day.

Make enough noise and ask enough people and some pencil kneck WILL tell you that you cant do it. Then you will be all warm and fuzzy because you were right.

Calif has crap emissions laws. But you can do most everything else. I never ran doors and had no issues.
I drive my CJ here without doors and haven't had any issues yet either.

I drove back into San Francisco tonite from Pacifica, and sat next to a black JK Rubicon with no doors or roof. I think he was worried about me as I was next to him for about 5 or 6 miles just looking at it. Needless to say, it had what looked like a 4" lift, and big tyres, plus a bull bar that would not meet ANY ADR requirements back home in Oz.
I was in a new Ford Taurus, and the outside temp was 61F - I got that off my dash reading as it was too cold to keep the windows down!!!!!!!!!!

This place is heaven for looking at Jeeps
