WJ 4.7 V8 high revs / heats up in bumper to bumper traffic...

Hi all - today sitting in bumper to bumper traffic (doing 5kms hour for 15km) My WJ seemed to increase its revs to 1200 as oppose to the usual 700RPM (sitting at a red light etc)

The engine temp also increased to just over the centre and oil level needle went centre also (dropped)

When I finally got to do 50km hour for a few minutes it then went back to normal.

Any idea what is causing this???

I have replaced/cleaned:
* Radiator
* IAC Motor
* TPS sensor
* cleaned out throttle body

I know my cats are possibly plugged (mini ones on the Y pipe) from some sulphur smell not long ago (large one before muffler removed).

Could it be the cats causing this?
