tyre noise?
Since I purchased my xj there has been a noise coming from the rear or the vehicle at speeds over 70ks.It sounds like a light oof,oof,oof,oof noise and discontinues below this speed.The wheel bearings appear ok and It does not sound like a characteristic diff whine.A mechanic suggested it may be coming from the tyres but they are highway tyres so are fairly quiet on road.You can only hear this noise on smooth surfaced highway,but its annoying.I do think that wagons are more suseptable to these type of noises from the rear than sedans, ect...was thinking of buying some muddies and a sports exhaust and then forgetting about it.
