do it but go 1.55s are you using a new bright body?
Yes...I'm thinking of getting the one at K-Mart...it's now only $50.
I can put an old ute on it and give it to my daughter and I'll keep the shell.
I was interested in the Trail Stomper but it's more for a longer wheel base and the drive shafts are crap plastic....but it comes with a nice set of steel 1.55 rims.
Any idea why the steering servo and steering arm is mounted behind the diff... is that how the 1:1 is.

50 bucks is a bargain for a hard body truck, especially when there isn't alot of tj bodies available and i think it would look awesome painted up
plastic shafts are real strong but pretty cheap and easy to fix, its almost good in some cases because a weak point will stop more expensive things breaking.
No idea why its behind the axle? I found with the tie rod at the front it obviously smashes into stuff, but if your a bic pen case over the top it works like an approach roller

good chassis. did you order any other goodies? There are a few little bits and pieces and techniques to get the leaves flexing a little better.
No mate no other goodies on order as I needed to keep some cash for this
I picked it up on the way home and have started to remove the stickers.
I also need to go to Jaycar to get some deans plugs as I want to change mine.
I did consider getting the red leaves but thought I'd wait to see what this one is like. I'd be very keen to know what to do to get the flex going a little better.

how good are those bodies? I love them.
Red leaves are good, heaps softer, if you do upgrade stay away from delrin leaves, they are too soft. You will still need to run a second leaf to help the red one.
Other ways besides playing with the amount of leaves in the pack is to mod where they bolt on ie the leaf eyes are.
Ill get some pics and go into details when i get home.

Removed the stickers, that was easy...20min sitting in boiling water and they fell off.
The painted mud is much slower and nail polish remover is a but hard on the nose. Anyway this is a progress pic.

looking good.
ok so search to z box shackles and shooter shackles, they will help but also mod your shocks when they come, they have rubber o rings and grease, now the shocks do hardly anything cos the leaves are there, so if you remove some or all of the o rings they will slide freely getting rid of the friction.
Also the leaves can be ground where the eyes are, so taper these, then open up the eye so the hole is larger, the standard bolts will have a sleeve on them, use normal bolts and thin rc fuel line as a bushing
ill try get some pics up
