I bought them from a guy on the forum in Morningside, steel 7" x 17". He bought them locally, I think somewhere near Browns Plains. I use these for my off road muddies and the alloys now stay at home on the weekends.

Steel was too heavy so I made my own rear bar. wieght = 6kg. cost = $500 labour = don't ask

Default Jeep Commander Easter holiday at Levuka

Here's another video of the multhill Commander at Levuka.

The mud here is always thick and greasey.

A few tight butt moments there. Didn't think you would make that last hill.

The problem was I had no winch and the not enough snatch straps to get me out.
The trusty Commander has done plenty of this type off rough driving in the past and never failed me. The only problem has been 2 clicking CV's when pushing it hard on extreme rock climbs and big step ups. It's a beast.

Levuka is a great spot, last time we were there, we were impressing landcruiser and patrol owners in a Mitsubishi Delica L400. They couldn't believe we were following them around. Best track was going down the laundry shoot.

Default Multihull & mates at Janowen Hills Labour Day W/E - track 67

Here's another one. It looks pretty tame but it's got a lot of deep opposing holes that work out the suspension. It's also more of a challenge for the bigger cars as you can see by the Patrol hitting a tree with his roof rack and them the base of another with his steps and rear guard.

More to come, stand by.

I spose I should post some piccies now of my new beloved beast

How it looked when I brought it home...

the wednesday before Jambo.... had just had the OME 2" lift installed on the Tuesday, and the Mickey T ATZ 4 ribs (265/70R17) fitted on the wednesday morning

also had just fitted a 4XGuard diff guard

And just fitted up the 4XGuard front brush bar... cosmetics are complete, just have to have the square hitch modified so that it sits in front of the intercooler - also had to modify the mounting brackets to fit around the intercooler... obviously they werent made with the CRD's in mind.

heaps more to come!

Hey JRJ33P Very nice, looks good.... It is a slow process adding parts due to costs and having to bring things in from overseas

Question : During your time at the Jambo and I guess doing some off roading, did you find your new tyres rubbed anywhere??

ProcompShocker,

Great looking.

It's annoying you received your 4xGuard brush guard unmodified for the CRD. When I fitted my 4xGuard gear, I sent them full drawings for the modifications required for the CRD on a Commander.

Did you tell them you had a CRD Commander?

The USA have the CRD fitted to the Grand but not the Commander and in the Grand the intercooler does not clash with the hitch and mounting brackets.

Did you see my write up here

Thanx man. As far as offroading goes, I didnt have any rubbing anywhere, however I do rub the inner guard on full lock on the front - nothing to worry about there. I havent cut the bolt either, I've left that, however there isnt even a pubic hair in it!

Nah man. I'd been in contact with them for a couple of other things, but with my work, I hadnt even really had the time to order the stuff let alone anything else - it hadnt even crossed my mind. But it was my mistake, but its not the end of the world, Ive modified the brackets so they fit and ill get a couple of mates who are fabricators to modify the square hitch for me when it goes in to get the rest of the work done.
