ok, so the more i read about turbo jeeps, the more it seems easy as far as the computer side of it/tune.

one main question:

does the ecu have the ability to reduce how much fuel is coming out of the injectors based on O2 sensor readings? as in, if i put in a set of 36lbs injectors, will it still run as is? or not so much?

ECU will run the correct A/R ratio with the bigger injectors regardless.

well! thats quite interesting then. my Delco system in my commodore would NOT change the pulse width on the bigger injectors even tho it was running so rich it wasnt funny.

so i have another Q regarding o2 sensors, my jeep had a 2nd one fitted after the cat. so, if i just splice the two signals together rather than precat-postcat, will that make it run richer or leaner? or non of the above?

im not looking for dodgy ways out, but if theres little tricks like that to help it along im all ears. lol.

ive got a few things happening in my coming weeks, so once all is back to normal, ill be ripping into the bay soon enough to establish just how much room/access i dont have.

I'm interest in the project only to work torque up under 3000 rpm, 3000 rpm is 100mph.
I'll be interested in how a low mount turbo deals with deep water crossings.
Overheating, What over heating, I run two XJ in hot north Queensland and if the cooling system is working standard they don't over heat and our air cons are on 24/7.
all I've done is removed the tran oil out of the radiator and now the tran never hits 100 degrees. under bonnet temp, who cares what the tent is. People appear to be looking for something to do.

how well the ecu adapts to mods depends if you have obd1 or obd2

obd1 is pretty dumb and easy to mod obd2 is not but even with obd1 most still need to run at least some kind of piggy back system the most popular is the split second system

BTW running straight gas only is one way to ditch all of the efi system and simplify the set up. You still need to run a good gas injection system but is much more customised to start with so lots of latitude

At low boost there is not that much to do, what is low boost in a 4 litre?
I would try low mount turbo, no inter cooler, low boost and work up from there. I betting that you'll get to 7-8 pound before this start get difficult,
Interested in the charge air temp at 8 psi, do you need a intercooler, intercooler's create lag due to the distance and pressure drop as they cool the intake.
Low boost pressure straight in to a inlet is quick but becomes an issue when charge air temp starts to effect pre ignition.
Low mount turbo well heat shielded will not heat up the engine bay any more than a cast iron manofold.
