Anyone keen for a drive up Stockton or ZigZag this Sunday??
I am wanting to do a bit of a 4wd day on Sunday and I have a mate who is driving along as he has never been 4wding before. He is looking to getting a 4bie but wants to play around first to see if he enjoys it.
I was thinking of doing a drive up the beach, spot of fishing and cardboard down some dunes and then drive back up over them.
OR
Drive around Zigzag on some of the easy and medium tracks. I have no dramas going on my own as I can get myself out of most things but it would be great to have someone who knows the area a little better driving along too...
If there is any interest in either I'll post up some meeting times...

I went down to the power lines track at zig zag last Sunday.
Never been there before but it was an absolute mud and rut fest!
First part of the track had a mud patch the size of a footy field (which was fun) but then the next hill we had to cut back out to the main road and by-pass by following the main road around and cutting back in.
It be a lot better in the dry as it was raining when we went, but I’d suggest walk each hill before doing....
A 4x4 club over took us at one point,, so we pulled up at the top of the hill and walked down to watch what lines they used..., a bloke in an old triton got bogged up to his bonnet, next car launched off a metre high drop off and a new troopy nearly rolled coming down the hill. We ended up calling it quits after seeing that and went towards the garden of stones up blackfellows hand road.
But if you get the Lithgow topographical map from department of Lands all the trails are marked on it, which helped us out a lot as no one had been there before.
I will be at my mums in the Blue Mtns for the weekend 23/24th july... Last time I was there a few months back my nephew {80's series} and my XJ went up at zig zag and went up and down and over ending up outside of Lithgow! Had a great run, even left a QLD number plate up there somewhere! hahaha Went wheeling with the Vic mob last month so if anyone is keen and knows the area as I havnt lived on the Mtns for 30yrs... would be great to meet up with a few keen Jeep owners and go for a run... any takers???
Cheers
oh.. Have both the XJ and the Grand PIG there... which one to play in I wonder!
My next available date is saturday the 14th July. I'm organising a trip with the sydney jeep club if anyone is keen to tag along.
It will be the beecroft trail and the blackfellows hand trail and if all goes well... and some exploring afterwards if we have plenty of time.
Bummer I would have liked to tag along for this one, but the wife is due to give birth right on that day, so probably not wise to be to far away for home LOL
Mate as I said I will be headin that way! Sun or Sat? What day suits you??
Hi Mate, not sure yet just waiting to hear from another friend if he's keen... but I'll keep you posted on here!! If he doesn't get back to me by Thursday arvo, I'll let you know on thursday night which day... is there a preference in the days? If the mate comes along we might be making it an over nighter...
