Default WK2 GC Surface Rust - Front Shock

Hi,

I have my WK2 GC Laredo CRD booked into the dealer on Monday. I've found some surface rust on the left front shock, particularly the nut holding everything together and the surrounding assembly. Can't really see how the rear ones are due to the fact that they are covered with insulation etc. Hoping that there is no issue there.

I've also been experiencing "movement" and a feeling of "looseness" in the steering wheel while driving on bumpy roads etc. I believe there is a similar recall notice on this.

Just wanting to have everything checked over, especially since I've now owned the car for over a month, and its travelling already with almost 2900kms.

This is my first Jeep that I've ever owed, and I can see how this marque has such a following. My GC is just awesome!! I've owned Holdens, a Toyota, and a Honda, but I'm starting to kick myself for NOT owning a Jeep sooner!!

Many suspension, driveline and chassis components are intentionally untreated and are quite OK to operate with a layer of surface rust.

A guy at work just had his in at jeep with concerns about the amount of rust under the vehicle, jeep cleaned off the flaking rust, mostly from the cast components and coated the underside with a black underbody type protectant. They did this under warranty. Check the underside of your vehicles and if your not happy, take it to your dealer, at least it will be noted on your record then.
