Long weekend trip to central Flinders Ranges near Warren & Buckaringa Gorges NW of Quorn.
Cost is $45 per vehicle for the weekend and $10/person per night collected by trip leader. (kids free) No pets as working sheep property.
Depart Adelaide early Saturday morning 8 am, from assembly point at Carisbrook Park, opposite the Old Spot Hotel, Main North Road, Salisbury Park, just north of the pedestrian bridge erected over Main North Road on the north bound track. Look for a service road adjacent to the Caltex service station.
Stop at Quorn to refuel and have a short break
Arrive at Argadells for lunch Saturday. Set up camp at campsite and prepare for afternoon drive. This trip involves fully self-contained bush camping (long drop toilet) unless individual arrangements are made for caravan site at the Argadells Homestead. New toilet and showers ($2.50) on the property). Camp site is at Cockroach Valley -the name doesn’t do it justice!
Orientation drive of property Saturday afternoon to Mt Arden.
Sunday Convoy along ridge top and various northern vantage points. Optional short drives if time permits late afternoon.
Monday pack up & return to Adelaide.
