this is my zj .tj running gear 5 inch lift air lockers front and rear .still got stuck to hours ,,tow truck and 78 series just managed it , right on dark .
Hey MrGC, process of elimination, but your tip the other day paid of, we think its the Super Flex joints on the front control arms on the Chassis end, IRO do a rebuild kit, but they might just be loose, infact I have some other control arms with the same SuperFlex joint so Ill take that in as a spare today.
Fingers crossed, this has to be it, if its not, well obviously the rattle only exists in my mind, which would also be no suprise....!!

Re-backed mine with grease on the weekend, pointy noise pliers and a piece of flat bar to between plier handle to turn is all you need. No more rattles... Apart from a small rattle from the over knuckle steering which I've tried to fix with nylon washer's that helped..

Yup as per surfseller suggests..
Grub screw was loose allowed it to loosen, messed up the thread a bit, replaced whole flange nut with a spare.
