transmission slip in reverse

so my wifes 2001 wj 4.7ltr is slipping in reverse, its slipping in and out of gear.

its only just started to do it and i also find out that around 80-90kms the RPMS go up and down as much as 200-300 RPM, doesnt sound much but after taking it for a run its a pain

so iam thinking its the torque converter, what do you think and has anyone had this problem?

if you have had this problem and had to get it fixed what was the cost

as im pretty new to jeeps i maybe no help but i have seen this happen on other cars before.i just had the auto in my wj fully serviced at gympie autos for $200 (i supplied the filter and gasket).
i have seen a few cars that slip in gears and from what i have seen it can be the bands need adjusting,when i had my auto serviced they adjusted the bands when they done the box and it went from quite bad thought the gears to being like new.it maybe the converter but id honestly get the g/box serviced first and go from there.
