Default Looking for a JGC V8 - Good Deal?

Hi All,

I've been looking for a GC for a few weeks now after deciding on one for my next car. I've found the one below which seems to have every option that I'm looking for - V8, Sunroof, Charcoal colour, low-enough KM's, Quadralift etc. My question is, should $60000 be the price I'm expecting to pay for a car like that? I'm happy to pay that amount if that's the market rate, but it's been very hard to find anything that has that amount of options so I don't have a lot to compare to! Any help or advice would be very much appreciated, thanks!

Have it checked by the local auto service, NRMA etc, have the service books checked. Don't froget to check if it's under finance.

Looks great, would love it as a daily driver myself.

Considering it has been up there for at least 2 weeks you may be able to haggle a bit for a better price.

If you plan on taking it off road, get some 18" rims and AT tyres.

As I discovered last weekend, the quadralift works great off road. Best setting is normal height for best articulation and comfort and then only raising it completely when you need the extra clearance.

Hi Caine

This is a decision only you can make, however if you were to purchase this vehicle new, given the optional equipment fitted to it, it would be $70K>.

According to the Jeep website, a V8 limited is approx $66,678 drive away, now on top of that this one has the sunroof, Q/L & Q/D which would add prob $10k to the price.

However it is 15 months old, so in my view, prob not a bad deal, however if you look at carsales, in the ACT there is an 2012 Overland V8 for $66k, less what sort of deal you can haggle, might get down to your budget or maybe even colour.

Either way, that Limited is a very well appointed car, maybe have a look at Limiteds for sale in NSW or Vic to get an idea of pricing.

My only comment is to go to a dealer and have a drive of a diesel before you commit to a V8. The power and refinement is amazing and they have much better fuel economy and higher resale.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I'm in Vic and the car is in the ACT, so if I'm going to catch a plane up there I want to be absolutely certain that it's the car for me.

timbotrog, I was thinking of ordering an inspection of the car but have never done that before, is NRMA the one to go with?

Tiddy, I've been trawling Carsales on a daily basis, this is the first one I've found that ticks all of the boxes. $60000 is at my limit, otherwise I'd certainly take a look at the Overland you mentioned.

pmac, I was actually going to do exactly that tomorrow, the Bendigo Jeep dealership is just around the corner from my work so I'll head down at lunchtime. For all of my research I'm still to get behind the wheel of a Jeep, so I'm looking forward to changing that!

Thanks again guys, I'll let you know how I go
