Bomber,
Apologies I got a bit busy and haven't been on here for a while. The Panel beater wassn't any help but mine started doing it again with all this rain lately. Spent a while looking and trying to trace the tube and worked out the blockage was at the bottom but couldn't work out where it drained due to my rock rails so I googled and found a utube vid that shows how to fix it, and it's really easy when you know how!! if you're still having the problem google jeep commander sunroff leak and watch the video, you just remove the plastic kick panels on the door sill and the side one lift the carpet and the blue tube goiong through a gromett is the problem. Pull the gromet out and trim the narrow end to allow better water flow without clogging.

Hey Bomber,

Mine was doing the same thing late last year, so just before I went away I booked the car in with a interior mob here in sydney called Sydney Motor Trimmers, and they pulled the whole sunroof out and gave it a thorough clean, pulled the trim off and cleared out all the drain tubes (my issue was a couple of gum nuts got into the tubes), cleaned off the crappy grease on the rails and replaced that with graphite grease. They had the car for a couple of days and charged me $660 which i thought was fair given the work involved to do it. They didnt have to replace the outter seal on the sunroof, which is good coz Jeep reckons you have to replace the whole glass if that outter seal is buggered.

The guys there recommend that once every 5yrs the sunroof should be pulled out for a thorough clean out and grease up - and that goes for all vehicles with sunroofs.

We've had several good down poors since and I havent seen a drop come back through.
