Yeh and on second thoughts I am thinking the same thing.

Could have done external mods for that kind of money. Better value.

Sorry Aikhme I couldn't see an upside to buying this, I hope it's not to late to change your mind.

My recommendation is to buy the bare bones base model and then come back to this forum and we'll give you some advice on the best mods for the bush.

Even if you really, really wanted the leather seats (for instance) you can buy the Katzkin Leather seats in any colour for about $1000 http://www.ebay.com/itm/07-12-JEEP-W...item51a0bb291d

All the dealer supplied mods can be bought aftermarket cheaper and better quality.

Edit: actually after re-reading the webpage some of those dealer mods will give you headaches, such as the 18" wheels with road tyres. Also the GPS is near useless and not upgradeable with new maps.

I will look into this tomorrow!

I have not been allocated a VIN so with that in mind I hope it's not too late to make a change.

Actually I went to the dealer today asking to change to a Rubicon because it's about the same money as a Sahara. The dealer talked me out if it saying that in his opinion the Sahara is a better vehicle for our purposes. He believes the Rubi off road capability is something 95% of Jeep owners will not require.

Personally, there is a lot to be said about the stock standard and modifying as required.

Aikhme, if the Sahara is the same price as the Rubi then it's a rip off. The money is better spent on the Rubi, that's for sure, but the dealer is right in saying that 95% of owners wouldn't push the Rubi to it's limits.

The best thing to do (IMO) is to go with the Sport (10k less) and then add the accessories that you and your wife really loved about the Sahara, which I'm assuming is the leather interior. After that there would be money left over for decent all-terrain tyres and a front and rear steel bumpers and maybe a mild lift.
