1996 PCM into 1998 or 2000

iirc the post updates integrated the trany controller into the PCM. If it happened in 97 or the next upgrade in 99 I can not recall.
Pre updates have a separate trany controller.

I remember reading this somewhere I'm really not that familiar with post updates.
Would appreciate If someone else could verify/ dispute.

I have checked the PCM pins for the 1997 and 2000, there are no specific pins that would be identified as having any thing specific to do with immobilising.
The reference books don't list the late 1996 so its falls in the 1997 model spec except its not a update body.
The immobiliser sequence could be in the flash that they apply to each PCM.

When were immobilisers introduced.
I have a 1996/97 with out immobiliser, a 1998 with.

IIRC the early 96 OBD2 PCM's and the late 96 early 97 pre-update PCM's are all the same, it wouldn't take much to find out about the TCM in the updates, I don't have the parts manuals in front of me to verify....
