This is how the story goes, I bought murchison products lift and an arb bullbar at the same time. The lift was booked in first but due to mechanic family issues had to re-book which ended up being the day after the arb bar install.
I thought cool that should be fine.
Now when I bought the car (limited) I had the original tyres and rims changed to kmc monsters in 18" with +38 offset and BFG all terrains in 265/65r18. This combo on bumps and dips at speed on the road actually touches the wheel arch at the top. Nothing I read had said this. But that was cool getting it lifted anyway.
Took it to arb and they installed the bar and when I went to pick it up the installer said the wheels touch the guards. When he showed me where turns out you could only turn it about quarter turn before it rubbed. And when I say rubbed I mean pretty much can't even force it past the metal guard which covers washer bottle one said and (if equipped) compressor the other side.
So if you are contemplating installing an arb bar to you wk2 consider having a lift fitted first. If you have original tyre size or original offset rims I don't think you would have a drama but who keeps things original these days.
Hope this helps someone.

IMHO - If you intend on keeping the bar then you need to trim it to clear the tyres (at least 10 mm or more) - there should be absolutely no fouling (touching) the front bar within the complete range of travel of your front wheels at ANY angle.
If a rego inspector see's rubbing on the front bar your will get defected.
