Default Steering Stabiliser advice

Hi guys

I have a 2.5" lift with 33x12.5in muds and currently running the stock SS.

I have been getting a bit pull side to side when off road and sometimes a bit of resistance with the steering wheel returning to centre, even on road.

Do you think an aftermarket SS would be the way to go or is this just a by-product of the wide muddies compared to stock tyres?

If so any recommendations?

Cheers

Castor corrected?

Steering stabiliser is supposed to add resistance.

Have you relocated it? If you are getting noticable resistance coming back to center, could you have bent it on something? I did mine at least twice before I moved it, and I don't get offroad that much...

Are you running an adjustable front trackbar? Front or rear trackbar brackets?

If the lift kit didn't include any of the above, chances are that your axles aren't in alignment, meaning it'll pull to one side and drive like a crab walks. Try measuring the distance from the inside of your tyre sidewall to the frame. The two front tyres should be the same distance to the frame, both rear tyres should be the same distance to the frame as each other as well.

If they're not, you're running out of alignment to some degree - the bigger the difference and the faster you go, the worst the pull will be.

A rear trackbar bracket and adjustable front trackbar will sort it. A steering dampener won't address much if you're got alignment dramas.

This is your answer and also because you have lifted you will need to have your caster corrected.
