That's cool.
Mention the Petronas oil being sold as Mopar MS-10216 in the UK to him if you get a chance too.

I've looked at Penrite's "tractor trans & hydraulic fluid" in the past, and it looks like a good match on paper. Maybe that's what he's talking about.
It was very expensive from Repco though.

Oh yep I did sorry. I thought you were making a "pff, tractor oil? in a jeep?" comment. Sorry.

Really in a nutshell if you have NV245/247/249Transfer case and your book says use MS-10216 then use Mobil 424, it's proven and at $7 to $14/lt is cost effective. If your book in the late model Grands says ATF+4 then it's easy use the same stuff that is in your tranny, NUlon, Penrite all have ATF+4 blends, the thing is to source something that is readily available so when your need a top up NOW you can get it, no good waiting on the post or trying to find a Jeep dealer, thats just dumb.

The thing is with the WH/WK nobody has said what the book reckons for their year model they should use, as from what I have seen after 2012 it changed.

I agree Drover however many owners going to Repco ,Supercheap Autobarn etc are getting wrong info.Even it seems dealers are putting in the wrong oil in the NV245.Hammonds in Brisbane were using ATF 4 when I rang them last year. The Penrite tech I spoke to yesterday now realizes that there appears to be a problem,he said other oil suppliers also in same situation .

Got a box of 12 Mobil 424 1 litre packs yesterday at East Coast Lubes eagle farm 90$ pretty happy with that ordered them the day before and picked the box up on the way to my mums at Redcliffe
parts from US are in the mail
You Guys have no idea how I am looking forward to no lights and codes for a while LOL

The ATF fluid debacle was a costly experience maybe it should be made a sticky that the oil should be genuine or Mobil 424

I noticed that East Coast Lubes sell the full Mobil 1 range pretty reasonable prices as well including the low saps oils

I don't use the low saps or synthetics anymore she runs much better on 15w40 pm oils turbo-life mineral so I am sticking with it

Getting my late model Renault trafic van chipped this week and EGR switched of then going to run mineral in it as well

I buy the turbo life in 20/litre drums still servicing it at 20,000 k,s I just get the oil analysed at 10,000 and 15,000 k,s will do the same with the Renault as well Renault has 15,000 service intervals
