Default recovery points

Hey guys,

Just wanted to know if the tj comes with recovery points? If not, where is the best/easiest place to install some recovery hooks? (I have a tube nudgebar)

Thanks.

There should be one on the front bar. It bolts up using the two bolts on the top of the bumper on the drivers side

I thought that was just a tie down and not meant for recovery?

Correct, if it's the loop of rod that bolts to the top of the bar it's only there for shipping, far to many have made the mistake of using this as a recovery point.

The best place to install the recovery points would be on the frame. There should be a 3 bolt pattern on the driver's side, so you can pick up some steel plate of appropriate thickness then drill it out to match the pattern and mount it as a recovery point.

Or, you can save yourself the hassle and do what I did which was to get rid of the tube bar and buy one with recovery points. I called and spoke with Wooders and got one shipped up to Brisbane at a very reasonable price.

If you put a reasonable price on the tube bar, it will go quick on gumtree.

Sorry I didn't read that you have the tube bar. The point I was describing is on the pressed "c" section standard bar.
