    Air suspension noise

Someone new to the WK2 with air asked if it is normal for the air suspension to make a rather loudish grating noise when lowering. The compressor has already been replaced but the noise has continued. The service guy said it was normal but a second opinion would be good. I can't answer any questions about it as it is the other persons car. I was just curious and trying to help.

Yeah, it makes a bit of noise when lowering and raising. It will also decide to self level when parked and turned off, scared the crap out of the missus the other day.

      Now that is interesting

cos I am now up to 11K, and mine is silent from inside the cabin going either up or down

outside (when self leveling) is a mild ticking

it will make some noise, as the air suspension physically readjusts/reshapes
