The next few years will see lots of changes at Jeep. A new mini-SUV is due on the market soon, while the Patriot and Compass are set to disappear in 2016, to be replaced with a single c-class vehicle.
At the same time, the Cherokee will be refreshed, and the JK Wrangler will be replaced with a new Wrangler in 2017.
Those are things we know. What we don't know is much about is the new Grand Wagoneer, which is due to be launched in 2018.
Bringing back the Wagoneer will be an important moment for Jeep. It is the vehicle that started the luxury 4x4 trend, way back in 1963, and will finally deliver a vehicle with three rows of seating to the lineup.
The omission of a third row capable vehicle is a glaring one - almost every manufacturer makes cars in that class. The only question is whether it will be too little too late. Despite the Grand Cherokee selling extremely well, Jeep is leaving money on the table by not offering a third row in the vehicle, which is likely to have resulted in people looking to similarly sized Japanese, Korean, British or German rivals.
