Default Changes coming for Jeep

The next few years will see lots of changes at Jeep. A new mini-SUV is due on the market soon, while the Patriot and Compass are set to disappear in 2016, to be replaced with a single c-class vehicle.

At the same time, the Cherokee will be refreshed, and the JK Wrangler will be replaced with a new Wrangler in 2017.

Those are things we know. What we don't know is much about is the new Grand Wagoneer, which is due to be launched in 2018.

Bringing back the Wagoneer will be an important moment for Jeep. It is the vehicle that started the luxury 4x4 trend, way back in 1963, and will finally deliver a vehicle with three rows of seating to the lineup.

The omission of a third row capable vehicle is a glaring one - almost every manufacturer makes cars in that class. The only question is whether it will be too little too late. Despite the Grand Cherokee selling extremely well, Jeep is leaving money on the table by not offering a third row in the vehicle, which is likely to have resulted in people looking to similarly sized Japanese, Korean, British or German rivals.

There was just a new black cherokee parked outside our office.
It was hideous, like some ********ed up Korean low budget imitation of a once unique brand.
Jeep have lost the plot.
If you buy one because of the badge, you are even more lost.

Inovation is a good thing but jeep needs to remember to NOT THROW out the baby with the bath water.
What is working keep and improveit make it more reliable and cheaper etc
Change for change shake is not always agood idea

Fiat back in the early 70's had the best most inovative motors engines avaiable from any one then they decided to backwards and go back to push rod motors
They also lost the unique designs that set them out from the pack
The 850 Sports coup, the Fiat spider the 124 sports coup etc etc
Then and now we have the bland likes of the freemount or panda such hum drum and such a waste of time.

Yes inovate improve but be carefull not to looss what is Jeep

I did read someone pointing out that a lot of the new Jeep market buys an SUV because of the image associated with the name....an image, to a very large degree, built on the back of the Wrangler.
I hope Jeep are VERY careful with the Wrangler facelift......they could very easily shoot their whole marketing image in the foot if they get it wrong.
