I run 4 Vision X 50w HIDs at present 2 spot down centre of road 2 spreads angled out at about 15 degrees helps see round corners on hills rds. Works great but the couple second delay on warmup is annoying. I ran 30" 10w light bar with 2 HID spreads on my patrol ute that is the best of both worlds instant 80m wide flooding light and 1000m penetration once warmed up. Will put the light bar on jeep once i have a roof rack to mount it to. LED's need to be mounted as high as possible to maximise their effectiveness due to the uncontrolled nature of the light emitted. Id like to see a light force XGT housing fitted with some good cree LEDs to try and replicate the controlled powerful beam of light with solid state reliability of leds. Also HID are great long term if fitted with glass lenses but any polycarb lens can't handle the heat and amount of UV generated by HID and will yellow and effect output in not to long.

yeah my Vision x 30" 10w bar was around $1800 4 yrs ago bought a chinese copy for $249 couple months ago less output and poor build quality but no tears if it gets smashed however biggest piss off is the radio noise due to cheaper electronics no noise filter. I used to be an agent for Vision X before ash downs went direct to factory in Korea and cut VisionX Aust out of the loop.
