Default changing the front seats. anyone done it with seats from another manufacturer?

Done a Google search and didn't find anything. I'm taking delivery of a stat write off ford bf Fairlane ghia and wondering about putting the front seats in.

Never tried that but...

If you dont have standard electric seats and are looking at wanting to change the driving position as in make it sit higher, fitting the electric seats (normally the leather ones) will allow a large range of height adjustments.

I looked at doing this on my base model petrol and it looks like all the electric plugs are there, so it should be a simple change out.

Regards
Daz

All KJs, at least late models, seem to have the wiring for electric seats in place, as Darren said above. Details of that wiring are in the Service Manual Section 8. Download the file from the Sticky thread in the KJ forum front section. But why Ford seats, from memory of them i'd think they would be too big and you would need a rail adaptor or replacement. Why not just source a pair of KJ Ltd electric seats from a wrecker - you could have them re-upholstered if necessary.
There is a thread on Jeepkj.com where a guy explains how he did it.

I've got an 06 limited with the electric seats. They're Allright but there flat at the back and don't hold you well around corners or in the rough stuff and don't stay comfy for long on long trips and don't go back far enough. Ever sat in a bf Fairlane? Like sitting in an arm chair but still bolstered up in the sides. And very comfortable all day long, that and I've got a set in good condition.

Agree with that. The leather seats in the limited are terrible
