Jono, that looks like a real machine.

Actually my son is the purchaser and he is only 16 so it will be the vehicle he learns to drive in, so we need all 4 seats and pretty stock to start off with.

He will no doubt add mods over time.

We drove a few petrols and didn't like the way they drove, I have a Cherokee CRD so am used to and familiar with the CRD.

The stock one we are looking at we can get for 17k, so just trying to decide if we should go with that one based on price or wait for another one to pop up.

Thanks for feedback so far.
Kim.

For a p plater I would only buy something that is 100% legal. Not worth the continual police attention.

If he is only 16 why buy one now? Next year a new wrangler will be released. Prices of current wranglers may fall a bit.

Ask which one he'd prefer...

If that's the case then stock for sure.

I have my 2008 JKU crd manual with 185k on the clock, reduced to 20k, 2.5in lift, muddies, winch, front bar, roof rack , spot lights. 2 door CRD are a little less common.

As chris said, service history of it is more important, I have worked on CRD's that have less then 70k on the clock and are worse then mine with 180k. Short drives, long oil changes and missed services are all bad things on the crd.

I suggest driving a 4door as well, Everyone I know who has the 2 door regrets it and is upgrading to the 4door. handling and space being the biggest factors.
I can't believe this hasn't sold if you only want $20k
