Default How to remove Viscous fan with a/c lines? Diesel xj

Hi all

My fan went caput so am replacing the Viscous fan drive. This is on order and due to arrive this week. I have done 36mm fan spanners so thats not an issue. However I have ac pipes going over the fan shroud and holding it in place. Does anyone know the best way of getting this out or am bet going from below? Thanks all

If I remember correct, when I did mine I left the fan in. You can unbolt the viscous unit from the fan & take it out.

Unbolt the 4 bolts holding the fan in place. Then undo the main unit.
Think i took mine out from under the car. And the actual fan just leave it in the shroud.

I needed some really long bars to crack mine

What fan did you get?
The one i have listed in the diesel parts thread?

Sorted now cheers chaps. I took it apart mostly from above and got it out from below. A combo of advice. It bow sounds freaking amazing. It's a heavier duty one than the original
