Default 2014 MY15 digital radio issue

When I first took delivery of the car 2 years ago I remember the digital radio working fine for the first week or 2, then after that it would just randomly drop out and say "station unavailable" probably a dozen times a minute making it basically useless, I cant remember if they did a uconnect update at the 1000km check or not or if thats when the issue started exactly, either way it was working early on.

I raised the issue with the dealer at the 10k service and basically fobbed me off saying some suburbs have poor reception. The next few services did the same thing so figured I may as well try a new dealer and see what they say.

Different dealer is giving me the same thing saying theres a flash update coming for the digital radio and they'll let me know when its ready.

To be honest it sounds like a crock of shit and they just dont want to replace a bung radio in my car while its still under warranty. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with theirs or if their digital radio works fine all through Brisbane.

While its not a big issue I am slightly pissed off I've outlaid for a brand new car for the sake of warranty and now that I have an issue its more or less swept under a rug.

I'm in Brisbane and it works perfectly fine 99% of the time. It will drop out and say station unavailable like yours every now and then, however i've found that, so long as it isn't a reception issue (e.g. driving down the coast and dropping signal, or sometimes being impacted by buildings or hills/valleys), then it can be fixed by switching to another station and then back to the one you want to listen to. What suburbs do you drive in/is it noticeable in some more than others? But if I was you, I'd be pushing for a new unit as it definitely shouldn't be dropping out that much

Yes I'm the same as LeCheese. In Brisbane works 99% of the time - will drop out in tunnels or poor reception. If it doesn't automatically reconnect I will change station and switch it back.

If your having trouble with the dealer, get onto FCA.
They helped me several times when the useless dealer in wollongong wouldn't fix issues on my car.

Doesnt matter where I am or what station I try listen to it comes through for anywhere from 3 to 10 seconds before it drops out and says station unavailable. Switching doesn't help

I was just curious as if it was working for others in Brisbane. I know theres no "flash update" coming for it I think i'll just wait till next service is due and let them know then I want it replaced.

I have the same issue with my MY15 Overland in Perth. The radio keeps dropping the digital signal. Fault appears to be in the head unit as a friend with a MY15 Laredo can park next to me with their digital unit working.

Same story from the dealer about reflashing the radio software. Have had it reflashed at first service (1500 km) and it lasted about a week before "station unavailable".
Goes back to "Australia's most trusted car dealer" again next week for another crack.

Clearly a fault with the headunit, im sure they would probably want 2-3k if I was out of warranty to replace it. I'll tell them I want it replaced when its due for a service next, im sick of waiting anyway.

2 years with a brand new car and non digital radio working is stupid.
