Default Is this what I think it is?

I'm doing a coolant flush and I found the back of a sensor cracked. I think it is the engine temp sensor, but everything I find online has the sensor right off the block under the exhaust. Pretty sure that's what this is, but I'm not positive.

There are two temp sensors (depending on the year), the front one (pictured) is for the PCM, the one at the rear of the head is for the temp gauge, there are none in the block...
