Default 1989 Grand Wagoneer advice re: selling

Hi Guys,

*Apologies if this shoud be on the forsale thread but I haven't got her ready to sell yet. *

I have an old Grand Wagoneer in North Queensland that I unfortunately have to sell, she's one of the few dozen that were imported and converted to RHD by Jeep in Brisbane back in the day. She requires a bit of work but overall isn't in too bad nick.

Just curious as to your thoughts on the best way to sell her, is it worth putting up an ad on carsales et al or am I better off just listing in the forum here? Also the rego runs out in March, am I better off renewing it (very expensive for V8s in QLD) and getting roadworthy before selling or just sell it unregistered?

Would appreciate any advice, thanks in advance.

Cheers,
KOB

The forum can be a great place to sell any jeep, listing is free so it cannot hurt can it?

As for registration, it is really difficult to sell a car without, people seem to distrust an unregistered car allot more than one that is registered. There is also the whole legal and insured test drives etc. But if you can sell it before it runs out your ahead, i would leave it as late as practical.

Maybe create the listing now and be honest about what you think needs fixing. This forum is full of people with the skills and knowledge needed and perhaps someone will buy it and save you the trouble of fixing anything.

Good luck with the sale. I have always liked them but i have enough junk at the moment lol

maybe try to sell it now with whats left of the rego, interstate buyers may not be interested in the rego I think the buyer needs to be a Qld resident to transfer the rego to the new owner. I bought 2 from qld both times scrapped the rego. If you are paying for repairs someone on here may buy it & be able to do the work themselves. Got any idea on price I know someone who would be interested.
