Mine touch at normal height as well. 5psi keeps them in place. The instructions from my Polyair ones suggests leaving 5psi in them at all times.

I don't know about the other brands but if you order from the Polyair bag site, don't just order what they suggest.

ARB did this for me because the website said you need part No.XXXX if you have a 2" OEM lift so that's what ARB ordered.

There was no chance of them fitting even with the coils dropped out.

After measurements where taken and these given over the phone to Polyair in QLD, they had the right set in the mail that afternoon.

From memory you need the height and the inside diameter of your rear coils.

I contacted the Airbag Man, they told me what to measure before they'd supply a set.....seems they understand not everyone has the same set up, lol.
Still planning on getting a set....at some stage.

I finally found a pic of mine after I had them installed.

Bags should not fill the whole spring, they are meant to expand sideways and increase the spring rate. If you fill the spring you loose up travel, most airbag installers have no idea how to setup airbags for a 4x4, only for towing.

Then you have a system that has to sag before the airbags do their job.. which seems to be an own goal. Deflated, a "full diameter" airbag has not significantly affected my bump travel ... If you have massive compression then it might be a factor to consider but for me at least stopping rear sag when loaded is by far the most significant.
.
I do regularly spray some dry Silicone lubricant on the bags so they can slide inside the springs a little easier....... but they have stood the test of time and distance without any issues or loss of capability.

I was thinking exactly the same thing.

spoke to airbag man directly

they offer both types of airbag filling the whole spring and leaving space above and below

the explanation I got was that by leaving space above and below, you can adjust the spring rate spring rate to change the handling of the jeep without changing the load

If you are happy with the handling and only want to use airbags to level out, then bags that fill the coil are best because you can leave them low pressure and only inflate when carrying/towing

basically
-if you want to change handling/firmness without changing load, have bags that dont fill the coil
-if you want to correct suspension sag under load, have bags that fill the coil and run them at what ever pressure to level out

I ordered bags that fill the coil for the above reason (and also because i have progressive/tapered coils so leaving a gap wouldn't relieve strain on the narrow ends of the coils)
