I have only ever driven with the bigger STMaxx on the Jeep, other than driving it home from the dealer, so I can't compare to standard tyres.

Braking is excellent, acceleration is a bit sluggish from dead stop, but no problem when overtaking. The tyres are heavy, I'd hate to have to get one on the roof as a spare, but I think that is the LT construction that adds the weight.

I do a lot of short trips, so my consumption is generally bad. A recent trip to gladstone I got 8.9l/100k according to the trip meter, but the extra wheel diameter is affecting the speedo, so distance covered will be more than the speedo says you covered. Speedo will be 2-3kph over at 100kph.

I run the MT/51s on my cruiser and love them. Only done about 20k kms so far and have hardly worn at all. Great grip and quiet on road and good off road. Good price too. Am very happy with them.
