I think for the petrol it's a bit easier. There's lots of after market air box solutions. Look on lost jeeps and you'll find a few, but I reckon we can work out a stock solution.

Plus I'm very picky about how it should look and function. Here's some pics to get the juices flowing. Not expecting to have any updates for a little while as life will be very busy for the next month.

What about a standoff bracket out of alloy or ss to space it out form the bonnet. Just a thought. Could easily be jetted out off either to fit and powder coated or epoxy sprayed and you wouldn't even see it I'm guessing. But what snorkel is that. Doesn't look like a kj one.

Default KK snorkel - CRD and V6

Thanks Kontek, I'm getting just a touch nervous. Re snorkel it's not connecting to the factory air box that concerns me so much, rather I'm looking to squeeze the port from the bottom of the snorkel between the plastic guard and the bonnet. I believe the KJ had more room in this area and even still the snorkels produced had to be made to work around both of these and may have actually cut into the guard.
Michael there's no big issue keeping off the bonnet as such just the porting under it as mentioned above. If you can find out the maximum length his printer can do that would be great, thinking to either do in one piece or 2 parts with a silicone hose like this. I can easily mock up the parts but making them into actual tube fittings is the biggest challenge.

Heres a post i found from Facebook. The guys in the states. Custom snorkel with in line filter made by Spectre, precleaner was found on eBay, and used 3" aluminum pipe for the duct work. Used factory air sensor too.
