Yes....... I was surprised myself but when making an aux tank i accumulated a few cross over pipes ( petrol ) and noticed the difference. Don't know how much the bigger pipe changes the flow as I used the cross over pipes to make a Y piece but you'd suspect that the change was done for a reason.

Anyway..... an interesting and useful mod.

There are actually service Bulletins that cover this under the US warranties, as well. 2 separate ones, probably because of the different size crossover pipes you found. I'm guessing the different size was used between 1/3/2007 & 31/3/2008

Update. Filled it up last night.

Against 3 years of habit, I forced myself to keep it going flat out until it cicked off. That is when it would typically splash back &, if I had not at least slowed a bit, splash out on me as well as the side of the JK.

Nothing. Not a drop of overflow. It was also almost completely full & took very little more from that single click off. Previously, it would take several litres after the first click, even when I had slowed down enough that it didn't splash out.

A solid win for less than a full tank of fuel, (at today's cost...).
