noticed the big o-ring I took out has a flat profile, the new one is round (and thicker)...wonder if the flat profile items are original?

managed to get it apart very easily with a 10 & 12mm spanners doubled on a T60, with 2ft pipe (the spanners were $1 Supercheap items
I estimate this was no more than 100ftlbs

Ford Z9 filter is nearly double OEM volume, (and cheaper)

The flat profile is from being squashed in there and then hardening hence the leaks...

dya reckon? I have seen plenty of flat-profile oil seal rings, and not really seen round profile items flatten out, not in such a uniform manner anyway

I was curious if the factory fitted item was flat, meaning mine had never been changed out before

Ok so I should have said this first " No the original is a round oring, not flat" then added my comment but thought it pretty clear with my comment
