Default 2002 CRD does it have electric radiator fan?

I know my way around my 2002 2.5 CRD Manual Sport having had to do a lot of wiring fixes after a front bumper versus tree incident but this so called fan to cool the radiator/aircon radiator has confused me for a while.

On a recent hot day in the nearby Kruger Park the Jeep seemed to me to be running a bit hot and the aircon was battling a bit.

Opened up the engine bay and it seemed to be very hot....temp gauge OK!

Maybe this is the viscous clutch for the radiator starting to pack up but the manuals that I downloaded from colorado4wheel for the 2002 Export CRD states that the cooling system consists of..."electric fan cooled fins" and page
8Wa-30-23 in the wiring diagram shows a radiator fan motor and relay but although the heading states "DIESEL" it shows a PCM not an ECM and the pinouts do not make sense.

Hence I presume that this is not for the DIESEL model but for a gasser....not unusual to find errors in the wiring diagrams!

I cannot see any electric fan or relay up front so I am assuming that this maybe only came in when the CRD went automatic....the 2005/6 wiring diagrams do show various relays for this fan which switches ON when aircon is ON or when engine reaches certain temperature.

I did clean off a lot of insects etc. from the radiator face so will check it again on a hot day but can you guys confirm that there is indeed no electric fan on the 2002 2.5L CRD?

I'm reasonable sure my old 2003 2.5 CRD had both, the viscous fan, and another mounted in the radiator shroud electric. BUt, I will have to have a look again to confirm.

Thanks cmohr, I would appreciate you checking that for me...I definitely cannot see this fan on my 2002 Export 2.5 CRD manual Sport.

I presume that your 2003 2.5 CRD is a manual transmission?
We only got the automatics here in SA once the 2.8L engine came out.....I think they added an electric fan then to cool the transmission.
