Iíve stuck with 2Ē due to the issues with lifts and mods and our nanny state rules up here in Qld. For now the slight increase in height and better ride characteristics should suffice for what Iím doing without having the extra cost/hassle of certification.

Iím hoping to start doing some more camping and over landing adventures over the next year or so, and will see how things go and decide from there what I need to change/upgrade. Because there are three of us and a 47kg dog, Iím limited a bit around filling the back with storage shelves, so may resort to a pod trailer if the whole fam decides they want to join in the adventures!

The springs are 520xxx rear and 505xxx front

Great Ozian! Mine have just arrived too, although I went for the 40mm lift kit with 9000 shocks from Rancho Aust. Just have to fit them now. Are you fitting yourself?

Hi John,

I got mine from the US through Quadratec. Iíve got a set of Teraflex front lower control arms and rear track bar bracket coming from SBR Off Road that should be here next week.

Definitely doing the install myself... so I know itís done right!! I love working on Jeep suspension as itís so much easier than the Mustangs I used to work on. I can practically stand up underneath them in comparison!

Ozian, this made me laugh as when I was finishing up the rear suspension on mine I was actually sitting under the jeep to reattach the handbrake cable hangers etc.
I was still reaching up to the floor of the tab for these.

Have fun with the install guys.... I always get bored when I have no new parts to install.

Default Installed!!

Finally got all the parts and installed the lift!! No issues with the installation other than the usual having to cut the inner fender to get to the passenger side top shock nut. Getting the bolts lined up for the new control arms took a bit of muscle, but nothing a good pry bar didn’t fix!

I removed the rear spacer in the end as I didn’t want to end up with any rake, and I’m glad I did. I gained about an inch (25mm) all around compared to the levelling kit (so about 3” up front and 2” in back over stock), and it’s perfectly level at 505mm at the pinch seam corners.

Initial impression is WOW!!! The Jeep rides soooo much better than before. Smooth, controlled, no more brake dive or wallowing around corners. The added caster from the Teraflex control arms is noticeable, and the steering wheel centres much quicker. I haven’t been on the highway yet, but expect a significant improvement in straight line tracking.

Side note, I also found the culprit of my slight front wheel shimmy. Turns out the shop that installed my new wheels and tyres didn’t remove the retainer clips front the discs. Sorted now.

Pics!

Before with Teraflex levelling kit:

I’m happy!!!!

Awesome job Ozian! I just drove down to Brisbane and back and can't believe the difference on the highway. I think you'll be happy 😁 Gotta love that blue colour of yours,
