Just thought some of you would like a really tidy place to put a switch in your center console - here's the part number:
https://www.narva.com.au/products/60090BL
It fits perfectly into the socket and there's a handy outlet for your wires - you can just leave the socket unplugged at the back. To remove the console piece where the socket lives, you need to do the following:
- Remove the radio surround by pulling it outwards from the bottom corners.
- Remove the chrome trim surrounding the gear shifter by lifting from undereath with a plastic pry tool. This part lifts straight up, and the clips holding it are just held with friction, so just carefully pull straight up where you find a clip.
- Use your lever to pull out the next trim piece surrounding your gear shifter.
- Now you can pull out the center console with the power socket and AC controls etc. All the plugs from the back pull out easily if you press the disengage lever fully in.
