I've just put a set of Scorpion AT+ on our TH but this post might be too late for you - sorry! - I'll have to change my settings to notify of any posts in these forums!!.
The Pirellis are replacing 2 1/2 year old / 42500km Hankook Dynapro AT-m's and in short so far I LOVE THEM!!.
The AT-m's have been replaced with prolly 40-50% of tread left on them. That suggests they were in line to manage around 80000 by the time they got down to the tags. I have excessive negative camber on driver side which Im going to fix when new Bilsteins go in at the end of August - else that could easily be more like 10000+
The reason I've replaced the AT-m's at this stage with so much wear left on them is because from about 18 months old their wet weather grip really noticeably fell off. They were fine in the dry and overall felt great etc. but in the wet the steering got VERY light and we had issues with cornering grip. They seemed to pull up ok in a straight line even in the wet but cornering and roundabouts had to be slowed down a LOT.
The reason I got the Pirellis was reviews - particularly tyrereview.com.au.
We've only had them on for a couple of weeks but I'm on holiday - so we've clocked up a couple thousand k's - mostly bitumen but prolly a couple hundred k's on gravel (including corrugations), some greasy but hard based mud, and some hard based sandy stuff - both dry and wet.
They're a LOT quieter than the AT-m's ever were - in fact onroad they're pretty much silent. They're less sharp/direct in response than the AT'm's but not in any way that's bothersome. Even at same pressure of 38psi they bag much more than the AT-m's (I grabbed my checking gauge expecting to find them at about 32 but they were definitely at 38psi ). Ride onroad and offroad is lovely and soft - on corrugations they're amazing - and that's at 38psi!!! - ie. I have expected each time we've gone offroad to have to let them back to something like 34 for comfort but they've been fine at 38. In the wet the steering feels no different to the dry - ie. they don't get light - which indicates they're still gripping fine. Altho as I said, they feel less sharp and direct than the AT-m's they feel REALLY nice and solid - a lot of our tripping since fitting them has been on wet road and theyve been awesome
Keeping in mind tho that the AT-m's also felt fine for the first 18 months tho, I guess we can only wait and see. I also have concerns how tyres that feel so sticky are going to wear in the long run...
